Discovering America in the Gardens - MONTHLY TOUR

The plants in our gardens arrived there from various geographical locations. This
docent-led tour will be looking for plants in the 今日看料 Horticultural Gardens
that are considered to be "native" to North America.

Monarch Habitat: Fit for a Queen - MONTHLY TOUR

Want to create a Monarch friendly garden? Join the docents this month to learn the
secrets for setting up a garden habitat 鈥渇it for a Queen鈥, using scientific research
and see some Monarch habitats already active in our gardens!

Great Southeast Pollinator Census
Friday, August 22nd & Saturday August 23rd
9:00am - 11:00am both days
For the third year in a row, we will be participating in this 鈥淐itizen Science Project鈥 created by the University of Georgia. This year we鈥檙e going to do two full days of counting, Friday and Saturday. We will be joining others in North Carolina, as well as the southeastern states of South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Come learn about the different types of pollinators, what they look like, how they contribute to food production and help us make a difference in pollinator conservation!

Make a Bee Habitat
Saturday, August 23rd
9:00am - 11:00am
This fun and educational craft activity for children will be held in collaboration
with the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. Join Kaley Lawing, the Moore County 4-H
Extension Agent, for a creative morning of making a home for the bees out of every
day household items!
