Workforce Continuing Education Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of the ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ Foundation, Workforce Continuing Education has several scholarship opportunities available.
To be considered for one of our Workforce Continuing Education scholarships, your application must be submitted within five business days of receiving an email with application instructions.
WCE Scholarship Process

- When you move to payment information, select "Apply Scholarship."
- Within two business days, you will receive an email with instructions on completing the Workforce Continuing Education scholarship application.
If you are a current ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ student with your username and password already setup, please skip to step three.
- You will need your SCC username and password.
IMPORTANT: You will be asked to enter your first and last name and the email you have been receiving correspondence. This is the same email you used to register for the class in Register (Fund Five).

- An email will be sent to you with your username and a link to set up your ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ account.
- In the email, click the link that says, "Set up your student account."
- When prompted to set up your password, please use the username provided in the email that was sent to you.

- Complete the Workforce Continuing Education Scholarship application that was sent to your email.
- You may qualify for the Golden Leaf or SECU Scholarship based on how you answer the questions in the application. If so, the scholarship office will email you the link to this separate application.
For the Scholarship Office to consider you for a scholarship, you will need to complete the application within five business days of receiving the email. If you do not complete the application, you will need to pay out of pocket, or you will be dropped for non-payment.

HSE (High School Equivalency) Scholars
Thanks to the generosity of the ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ Foundation, eligible College and Career Readiness (CCR) graduates who earned their high school equivalency diploma at ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ may receive paid tuition and fees up to in-state rates for two years. Graduates must enroll full-time in a curriculum degree-seeking program or in a Continuing Education credential program at ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ. CCR graduates not pursuing the HSE Scholars Program may receive a $250 scholarship to be used at ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ within one year of graduation to pay for tuition, fees, or books.
Golden Leaf Foundation
Money is available through the Golden Leaf Foundation f´Ç°ù students that are residents of North Carolina currently residing in a qualifying county. Scholarship funds can be used to cover the cost of attendance, which includes items such as tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, transportation, and childcare.  You must be enrolled in a Workforce Continuing Education (WCE) course offering at least 96 contact hours and leading to a state or industry-recognized credential, and you must demonstrate financial need.  
Beyond High School Equivalency
This money ($250) is available to assist those who graduate from the SCC High School Equivalency (HSE) program and want to enroll in occupational extension classes that lead to employment or SCC curriculum classes. It can be used for registration fees or the cost of books and you must use this money within one year of HSE graduation. This is a special grant provided by the ½ñÈÕ¿´ÁÏ Foundation.
SECU Bridge to Career
This $500 scholarship helps remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials through the Workforce Continuing Education Division of their local Community College that lead to sustainable wage careers within their local communities.  You must be unemployed or underemployed, included in an underserved population in a specific workforce sector or area, a military veteran or spouse, or a member of the NC National Guard, a US citizen, NC resident, and not a director, employee or family member of an employee of the SECU or the SECU Foundation. You must be enrolled in a course that leads to a credential identified at the Essential and Career level on the NC Workforce Credentials List.
Gene Haas Foundation for Machining Students
The primary goal is to build skills in the machining industry through assistance to CNC Machining students with scholarships which can be used for tuition, books and other related training expenses. Cost for this training can range from $250-$300. There is a military preference for these awards.
